im tryin to lower my 1999 gmc jimmy. it has a 4.3 v6 and 4 wheel drive. it "sways in the breeze" my suspension is really bad. i was looking into lowering it about two inches. i dont know if this will work but if i get some toxic shocks, will that lower it a little? im trying to spend the least abount of money possible. any suggestions? i think i read something about the torsion bar somewhere but i could also take the blocks off of the leafs in tha back. please help me.

You can get some keys to lower the front bars or you can back them off. I backed them off on my 94 bravada dropped the nose 2in and never had a problem with it. I put 250k miles on it with out touching anything else on the front suspension. Taking the blocks off the back would be easy fix for you. The only thing you might run into is pinion angle but that is a easy fix with some shims if needed.
Easiest and least expensive option is back off torsion bars and remove the blocks. No money payed out unless shims are needed no need to touch anything else and you have the drop you wanted.
Or you can get the keys for the front and take out the blocks in back, do shakles and hangers if you wanted it even lower.

Anytime you can lower the center of gravity it will help. How many miles are on the truck and what shocks are you running?
its a 1999 gmc jimmy with about 135,500 on it with the factory (original)? shocks
A good set of shocks will also help such as Bilstien or even Ranch adjustable shocks work really well also. With Ranchos you can adjust the feel and handling along with being able to pick them up at your local parts store. Another up grade would be to replace your stock suspension bushings with POLYGRAPHITE bushings. Another upgrade would be to get a better sway bar for it. It is all a matter of how indepth you want to get and how much you want to spend.
