I bought the 3 wire ECT (88988301) but all 3 wires are the same color and it did not come with a diagram. Which wires go to the ECM (1 yellow and 1 gray on my 6.0L engine harness) and which wire goes to my temp gauge (green wire for my 93 Yukon)??

I think it is the one opposite the lock. You could test it with a multimeter. It should be the only one with resistance to the outside of the sensor.
Well my OHM meter might be broken, but I'm not getting any resistance from any pins on the sensor. Is there any other way to tell what pins go to what wires?
Get a new multi meter that the OHM function works on...you should get 0 resistance between them when you have the right wire to pin relationship....i think

A = black............coolant temp input to ecm, low reference

I'm putting a 2004 6.0 from a 2500 in a '67 PU and my temp sensor in the head has only 2 pins (and the connector has only 2, black and yellow). Wiring harness from Speartech.
Do I need to get a 3 pin sensor in order to have output for a temp gauge? Or does the gauge input come from somewhere else on this motor?
I plan to use aftermarket gauges when I get to the dash. Do you have a PN for the three pin sensor?

John Spear tells me that I should use the sender that comes with the Gauge Set I choose in order to get the resistance values correct for the gauge. So I think the adapter route in the passenger side head would be the best way to go.
However the 3 wire ECT Sensor would be the easiest way. Does anybody know what the output of the 3 wire sensor is? Perhaps the output is the same for all gauges?
Sorry to bring back an old thread but I just wanted to post that the plug for the TBI throttle position sensor is the same as the three wire coolant sensor. I'm sure the info should be useful to someone sine the connector cost 55.00 from a stealership. If you don't have your old TBI harness around you can order TPS plug from summit, 6 bucks I think.
