Im sure somebody knows what im talking about because after searching on google i found i wasnt the only one, but under initial acceleraton it kinda makes a noise not really like a clunk but a kind of a squeal, i dont know but if anyone knows the deal let me know what i can do to fix it, im sure there was a bulliten on it or somthing but, also i saw on other sites peole had the suspension clank in the rear like i do when going over a speedbumbs or somthing, hope someone can help me, theyve been on my list for awhile but just now getting around to them

I've been wondering about this as well. I've done a search and didn't turn much up. Here's what my truck does: It acts fine when applying the brakes and coming to a stop. But once I let out of the brakes and apply any gas, it feels like it releases slack from somewhere in the drivetrain and it almost feels like the truck drops a little bit. It makes a clunk/squeek sound when this happens as well. A friend's '00 Z71 does the same thing, and he's set the ring and pinion recently. Any ideas on what this is and how I can go about fixing it?

My thoughts exactly. I would definitely do a thorough look over the rear of the truck. Something is loose, letting the rear axle torque backwards slightly. The chunk sound is the rear axle moving backwards, and the squeal is probably the 2-piece driveshaft rubbing slightly on the carrier bracket...

i had that also and the leafs were slightly shifting, when stopping, it throws a littel squeak like stated above axel wrap, threw sum high temp greas in b/w a couple of leaves, GONE

Definitely the oh-so-common slip yoke. Diagnose it by removing your drive shaft and greasing the splines. I just sprayed some lithium grease in there. Fixed it immediately. So then I bought the GM slip yoke (which they changed to stop the squeak) and still sprayed it with grease. No squeak.
