So, I was thinking about putting a cutout on, and i was wondering if they are really worth anything or is it just for sounds. I have a 3in. catback flowmaster system and i was wondering how i should put the cutout if i decide to do it. Thanks guys!!

I used to have a 3" cutout before my flowmaster. I could tell that I did lose some on the low end, but it definatly pulled harder up top. Not to mention it sounded cool as hell

in your case, i probably wouldnt think it would make a whole lot of difference as vicred said you may lose a little low end as your motor isnt real heavily modded. sure they are popular on f-bodys that are makin 300+rwhp(and Tq) so it helps much more(maybe it kills just enough tq to save a rear end who knows, lol).
i wouldnt worry about one til i was at a decent hp level(~310-330 to me) i felt it would benefit me big.......or unless i was allen and creeping down to 12's and runnin outta mods to do to get there and stay fairly stock :taunt:

I have one on my Ford, it makes cool sounds...you lose a lot of lowend too. I'd look at one only if you have a nice stall converter or want to scare someone. :twocents:

Thanks Guys!! I'm gonna hold off on the cutout, and spend my $$ somewhere else, like on a converteror or headers.

Good choice, it will sound cool, but not worth it, save the money and labor cost and get a smaller crank pulley, hehhe.
I'll get a cutout soon, along with remote start and one lopey ass cam, the cutout will be controlled by the remote too, heheh, that'll be cool.
