Dont know why i said header i ment TRU DUAL or Y-PIPE must be to much turkey in my brain......
Seems like the trucks come with a decent exhaust , right?
i'd say a ypipe would be nice.
What kind of mods are you doing? I'd say a ypipe and a nice muffler will be adequate.

For my truck i was thinking of going with LT Headers, Y-pipe, cut-out, and stock muffler combo. How would that work?
(sorry to hijack, but i thought it would be pointless to start another thread asking basically the same thing)
Well i have flowmaster with the stock y-pipe seems to work well
..would like header but i will have to wait....but i see a lot of
GenIII Trucks with tru dual but i am not sure..witch will put the most power down it seems to me that a y-pipe and one muffler is better than 2 pipes and 2 mufflers
not sure.......
well i have gibson shorty headers and stock y-pipe and single in dual out flowmaster 40 series and i run now 14.9 with other mods including "nelson tunning"

I think a Y-pipe is fine setup. Up to ~350rwhp 2.5" pipes into a 3" collector is fine. Over 350rwhp maybe a 3.5" y-pipe. Over 400rwhp I'd step up to a dual 3" pipe into a 4" collector. That's what I would go with when running a y-pipe.
