this might sound a little basic but hey, that's why the forum is here:) i'm just wondering if there is some way to tell what engine you have if all you have is the engine. it should be an lq9 but how do you know?

Nothing on the block. Have to pull a plug and look for flat top or dished piston. Flat top = lq9, dished = lq4. Otherwise you would have to pull the oil pan. lq9 rods are beefier and have floating pins.
