It's unfortunate you had such a bad experience, but don't let it shine a bad light on the rest of us who run reputable shops.HitmanX: I can only speak for myself when I say that I charge a price that might seem high to some people, but it's because you are getting the kind of attention and service that I give my own vehicles and would expect to get from others.
BadBow1:If you're not getting the kind of response you think you deserve from Cottman's customer service reps, then you should see if they belong to either A.T.R.A (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) or ATSG (Automatic Transmission Service Group). These two associations refer customers to their members and they should be aware of any complaints that have been ignored by Cottman's.
I don't have a problem paying more for a product or service when it is done correctly and my concerns have been addressed. I paid just under $400 for my shift kit install and servos too. If you were local to me, you'd for sure have my business 100%. I HATE poor workmanship...I dumped just under $10K at a speed shop before I knew I was getting screwed. It was my first vehicle to build and I didn't know any better until I got on the internet. Since then, I try to do everything myself.
