Check out LandAirSea.com for the vehicle tracking system.
Get an alarm system that has a starter circuit cutout.
Get an alarm that has a paging system. I have one that will page me from over a mile away if need be.
Install a toggle switch to cut out the fuel pump circuitry.
Install a secondary starter relay so that you have to do two things at once for the starter to actually work.
Only the GPS unit will help if it gets taken on a tow hook. Have a battery backup on the GPS unit.
You can hide a newer cell phone within the truck with a charger hooked up to it. They all have GPS now. A productive police dept can trace the phone's location if they really want to assist you. Not all of them will do that for you.

what do you mean by "Only the GPS unit will help if it gets taken on a tow hook. "?
If someone with a tow truck or flat bed hooks to it and steals it the fuel cutoff, ignition cutoff, most alarms or other devices don't do much good. I installed a tilt device with the alarm that will even let you know when someone tries to jack a tire up off the ground. It's digital, not a mercury switch.
Most people think tow trucks are legit and if the alarm goes off while they're towing it, they think you just got repoed or something. The GPS will let you find it yourself. Load up and go hunting.
The GPS sounds like what Im looking for. As long as I can track it myself, instead of being at the mercy of a doughnut sale at the local police hangout.
That's what I like about that LandAirSea unit. Plus you can keep track of your truck if someone else is driving it.

red, if Im reading their info right it will not do real time tracking. Look at the last few questions on this page. Am I looking at the right unit?
that is not the one. That one just tracks where your vehicle has been. You'll want the live interactive unit.

Question:
No monthly fee, but a $0.25 charge per ping. That's not bad at all, but if you ping the unit on once daily or longer, it may be useless. Any less than that, and you may as well pay a monthly fee. WIN-WIN for the company marketing it. Nothing's free.
Yeah, sounds pricey but it's a lot cheaper than a stolen truck. Good luck trying to find an insurance company that will give theft coverage. I like being able to take the law in your own hands if it gets stolen.
