OK guys better than going throuh every 5.3 to 60 swap thread will I need efans in this swap or can I use regular fan clutch assem.
Red I know you will know so chime in please. This is going to be the first of a few question I will have on the swap.
One more question would be easier to pull the motor and tranny out as a unit or just motor and stab it in. Keep in mine that she is 4wd.
:help:
Thanks in advance for the help to all of you.

Swap the engine only. The fan will screw onto the new 6.0 pump. If it isn't threaded, just swap pumps from the 5.3 to the 6.0. Later, you can remove the fan and put electric fans on it if you feel like it. The manual fan does have the advantage of being always there and not a drain on the alternator. A few HP drain on the engine won't kill it with that 6.0L torque.

good luck with your swap!

THANKS Red thats what I was planning to do if it would work.
Thanks Z I will need it and I will take and post pics as I go along.
But what about pulling is harder to pull all out or just pull motor?

i havent done a swap on the NBS trucks but the older cars and trucks ive done i always liked to pull all at once, just unbolt the T-case and pull the motor and trans if ya got the tools.

The pull isn't the bad part. The stab back in is when it gets tougher. Do just the engine and it's shades easier IMO. You have to drop the starter, unbolt the torque convertor, pull the engine mount bolts and then unbolt the bell housing from the engine. After the coolant hoses, pwr steering hoses, wire harness, throttle connection, cruise control and fuel line are removed it lifts right out.
