i am planning on swapping out my 4.3 from 1990 gmc sierra reg cab for an ls1 and i wanted to know what would i need to buy? how much would it cost? and where can i get it all from and will my stock standard 5-speed transmission be strong enough for it

most everything you need can be found here: www.jagsthatrun.com , the only thing you might need is an oil pan, unless you plan to notch your k-member just a bit to get it to fit, otherwise they have everything you need, I would suggest buying their book on this swap, it helps a GREAT deal

THe truck or F-body camaro oil pans both work with the C1500 truck crossmember without customizing. Don't listen to those Isuzu drivers.

Will you, or are you going to use your factory gauges? Does Allen set up the wiring to use the factory gauges? Will I still be able to use my aftermarket tach?

speedo wont be hard, but the oil/water gauges will be as the PCM
uses the input and with no outputs (unless serial data 99-newer dash
cluster). so either install OE sending units somewhere with no
interference or aftermarket gauges or ODBII cluster gauge.
