I've been reading this forum for a while, but I thought I'd register and see if I could get a couple answers to questions. I'm doing a 6.0 swap soon, and I'm trying to collect the last of the parts I need before I start, so here goes. I've got a motor out of an '03 Silverado SS, but it's missing a few things.
Will the 4.3L MAF work on the 6.0? There is a part number stamped on the MAF, and it's the same as a one I saw on an '05 6.0, but the barcode sticker on it had a different number. The motor I've got is missing the MAF, and if I can avoid buying another one, then that's money I can spend elsewhere.
Any idea as to whether or not the 4.3 AC compressor is the same? Again, I'm missing that, and don't want to have to buy another, not to mention empty/recharge the AC system.
Also, the '03 is a drive by wire setup, will it work with a cable throttle body? and will I have to reprogram the ECU to make it work? I'm planning on getting a Nelson tune eventually, and I can reprogram it then if I have too, but I don't have a lot of money to throw at it up front.
And last question, will the 6.0L work with the stock 4l60e without being reflashed? The tranny will be pretty well built while the motor is out, so it'll handle anything I can throw at it, but is the programming correct?
