Has anyone actually tried fitting NBS headers onto a swap in an OBS truck? All I ever see is talk about the S&P headers or having custom headers fabbed. By the looks of my swap, there is tons of room, and comparing it to my NBS truck, I don't really see anything that would be an issue if I were to try and fit a set of NBS headers in there.
From what I have heard, the frame rails and firewall are the issue with the NBS vs OBS headers. Buy a set of LT for your NBS truck and try them on the OBS.
NBS LTs will mate for use in OBS swaps, but the engine placement is key (esp in pre-87 trucks like mine). I moved my engine forward to accomodate for use of the stock truck compressor. I notched the pass-side frame rail a bit b/c I could not find a set of factory F-body manifolds, and got impatient. Gotta box in the rail for strength purposes, but that's all.
All on what you want. The NBS LTs (IMO) would work if the engine was placed closer to the firewall.

The engine to firewall distance is the exact same between the 350 and how I installed the LS2. It's an inch back in the engine bay to how the S&P style mounts would place the engine. It would definately help in the frame rail clearance, but it would make them tight to the firewall.Quote:

I'm even using the cat pipes that mate up to the exhaust on a NBS truck and they fit like they were made for the truck. I'll have to see if I can dig up some good engine pics of NBS headers installed on trucks and see if I can figure out if there will be any major issues or not.Quote:

The problem with the NBS header is on the passenger side. They fit the drivers side, but they hit the upper control arm eccentric on the OBS. S&P just happened to have a mid length header that barely clears the eccentric so they sell the hell out of them. Any of the shorty headers for LSX engines will work also.
