Hi,
Okay - so I hope you guys see how much I value your input, cause there's NO WAY I would ask you "If you had my wife.." :laugh:
You see the setup below, what things would you do (BESIDES the tune) so I could pick up some more ponies.
Specific questions are welcome - got no problem answering them - here's what I can readily think of:
Fiberglass hood
lighter wheels (but not bigger rims and no difference in tire size - current is 275/60R-15)

I'm not familiar with a 6.0 intake. Is that a 6.0 truck intake? and if so do they flow better than the LS6 or some of the aftermarket intakes. How about a different throttle body or some roller rockers.

Everyone who I've talked to, cause I've eyed the FAST 90/90 setup says to stick with this (and some of these were the guys I buy parts from). Tony Mamo from AFR actually told me to stick with this intake as well and save my money.
The throttle body is a good suggestion - maybe port it? Have heard maybe 5 - 7HP out of this...
As for the roller rockers. I could, but the cam that I'm running might not like how often the valves hit the pistons (heads are milled to 59cc). So if I went to 1.85:1, this might mean flycutting. If I had to do that, I'd drop the G5X3 cam (and about 2600 bucks for the new cam, flycut and tune).

1) Truck would be a drug addict - he he have to have the spray to play
2) I've seen on video what happens to a vehicle (Corvette) when you have a NOS backfire (the hood was blown off and the thing caught on fire) - :cry:
3) Gas is expensive enough - I'd always be refilling the darn bottle. Would eventually click with my wife why I was paying $7.00 a gallon for gas :)

Are your headers shorties? Maybe some power to be found in some longtubes.
Stall? I know techincally that isn't horsepower, but might make some gains.

The headers are shorties. That's a problem with my 1993 P/U - the driver's side has plenty of room, but the passenger side of the engine is very cramped. We thought we'd have to actually even cut part of these shorty headers because it would butt up against the frame - however, the fabricated motor mounts remedied this.
Given its a 1993 P/U, what long tubes would you recommend - just the brand is fine. Is anybody aware of any emission legal long-tubes? I've not heard of them and have kind of looked, but half-heartedly. Does anybody - maybe RedHeartbeat - have any guidance as he's got the same truck as me?
I am still contemplating headers. S&P makes a nice set of mid-length G_body headers that fit nice but they're not long tubes. They're better than shorties though. I've thought about buying a pair of Hooker LS1 Truck Headers in raw form and cut and modify them to work, maybe cut or dimple part of the firewall to make them fit. Somebody already tried the pacesetters on the OBS trucks, nowhere near fitting or working correctly with them. Hooker also makes a set of their competition headers for the 88-98 trucks. Thought about a set of them, LS1 flanges and misc tubing to marry them together.
Well first, I wasn't saying to get a higher ratio rocker. I meant a fully rollerized rocker. I know some say they are heavier than the stockers but I'll bet there are some out there that are lighter & the rollerised tip might add a few ponies. As far as the headers go I am not aware of any long tube headers that are confirmed to fit a 88-98 body truck with an LS1. S&P makes some midlengths but they're a little on the shortie side imo.
