truck medicine

well, i just got back from michigan, had my tranny built with all new beefed uo hard parts, blue clutches,billet servos, shift kit,and more. Also a precision industries 2800 triple disc stall installed by T.J. and Zippy from Doctors of Performance. man, im totally stoked about this trans, it shifts awesome and is definitley what i needed!, also had T.J. put in a comp cams 212/218- .558-.563 cam shaft and Z06 valve springs, Man, what a difference! It sounds mean and throaty and lopes at the stop lights like a musclecar. ive never had any thing with a cam before and ill never be with out one again! the power this thing makes is amazing. It was a 6 hour drive but well worth it, im ready for the track. Special thanks to T.J. grimes for all his hard work and great hospitality, its nice to feel like you made new friends out there. :cool:

How do you get lope out of a 212/218 cam? My buddies truck has(had) one in his truck low lift version and you could barely hear it at all in there. Guess Im just used to my cam :laugh:

Glad you are happy it is truely amazing the difference a little hair size difference on a cam lobe can make on the performance of a motor huh?

Sweet upgrades! All that at one time has to put the SOTP meter in happy mode!

im not the most educated on cams but this one does have a lope to it, at a light it will creep foward , and man, when your cruising at about 85-90 it really sound good&#33; big difference. really compliments the turbo.

Yes, SOTP is awesome&#33; i wasnt planning on a cam but T.J. talked me into it and im glad i did, what the hell,its only money&#33;( im broke&#33;)

How do like the stall? How is cruising on the highway? Any slippage in lockup?

With a 112 lsa or so it will definately lope.

lobe seperation is 115.0 CAM is part#54-424-11 COMP cams. LS1 XR265HR-15. and yes it does lope, still i need to get tuned , its rich up high now and shifting before the cam really shines. but it runs great for now. allen did a good job and i didnt tell him i was getting a cam cause it was spur of the moment. I love the stall, it cruises awesome , just driving normal and cruising you cant really tell its there, but when you punch it and it jmps the rpms it goes&#33; I never did a 4 wheel boosted launch before, and when we did it was amazing&#33; put in neutral, press the brake,shift in low 1 and pedal up to about 2800-2900 and this thing builds about 1-2 pounds and then launches awesome.NO slippage on lock up, this stall is tight. SORRY guys, this cam and trans stuff is new to me and its just awesome what results it has made, now i see what you guys with cam/springs/stall are talking about&#33; It makes you want a cam in everything&#33; :smile:

Hey we just bought a boat with the 4.3 in it, any good V6 cams that would work in boats&#33; lol

Nice cam TimZ&#33; That has a good sound to it compared to stock. BTW, you were talking about my poor tires, what about yours&#33; LOL :laugh:
