Im not really sure where to post this but, I have a vortec 350 in my 98 Z71 and it is fixing to need a rebuild but I am just wanting to go with something other then just a stock rebuild but I dont want anything too extreme just something to be different for a daily driver,I have heard a few internal parts from a LT1 like the cam and other stuff will work in my engine I am just wanting to ask the guys that know what will work and what wont work.

I also have the L31 motor in my 98 truck so I am going to put it in my truck. BTW it is a direct swap, all you have to do is make sure the pin on the cam is the same length as the stock one. 98BlueBowtie, How much are you looking to spend? There are many options for the Vortec 350 but you have to take into consideration the stock heads are only good for .470 - .475 lift. I would recommend stroking it out to a 383 or installing a GM crate 383 stump puller. LOL With the crate motor you'll spend $3500 and you can use your stock fuel injetion on it. You'll be pushing 350 HP / 400 TQ and kickin ass. This is a direct vortec 350 replacement. The only reason I didn't install one was gas mileage. You can't beat an LS1 for that. Good luck!
