Alright, I am about finished gathering parts for a 5.3/T56 conversion into a '92 SWB 2WD truck.
The questions I have that I can't seem to find a specific answer for, are:
Is there any reason that I shouldn't get rid of the EGR, and charcoal canister? Can I just make block off plates for the intake, for where the EGR was?
Is there any benefit in keeping the O2 sensors? I have the Y-pipe with cats and sensors, but don't know if there is any future benefit to keeping them; for tuning reasons?
It seems I can get rid of all the above for a more simplified wiring process, and cleaner underhood look, but want to make sure before I take anything apart.
Thanks is advance.

It depends on the smog restrictions your state has. California's smog requierment is by the year of the engine not the vehicle year.

You can remove everything you mentioned above, just not the front O2's, you'll probably want those so it'll get decent gas mileage.
Like you said, the wiring will be easier and a lot less headaches, however none of those items will increase power once removed, just makes it look cleaner.
keep us updated, sounds like a nice project,
