I am looking to adding a new cam. I have a 01 chevy silverado 4.8. I am looking for something that has power and also sounds mean but not have to change alot of engine parts. i am thinking i will need to change out the lifters springs rocker arms. if there is more please let me know. Also who in the houston area works on our trucks the only places i can find they work on carb cars....lol... Thanks agian
And still looking to trade or buy a rear end with 4.10 gears in it lol

You can use the stock valvetrain up to about .530 lift. I run a .610 lift with the stock rockers but dual manley springs and titanium retainers in my LS1. I'd suggest you get a set of Comp Cams 26918-16 beehive valve springs. The CC springs are good for any cam up to .600 lift. The Thunder Racing TR224 cam is quite popular and sounds really nice.

The rocker arms arent necessary to change, I would however do as Red suggested and get the comp 918 springs and retainers.
