I have an '05 all-alum 5.3L. What is the maximum displacement (bored/resleeved & stroked) possible on this motor? Only interested in normally aspirated application.

From what i have READ it is only good to LS1 bore diameter after that you start getting in scary territory. If I were you and I wanted to gain CI I would jsut throw a crank in it and mill the heads for a higher CR and throw a nice cam in it and call it done.
Why go to the trouble of sleeving a 5.3 when you can get a 6.0 core long block for $650?
If you are wanting to stay aluminum, then do an LS2.
I believe the sleeves are $1400 or so plus install. Quite and expensive way to go
when there are easier options.
Yeah, the LS2 block is only $995 from SDPC2000.com plus shipping. It's cheaper to do that than sleeve a 5.3 or 5.7. You have to extend your knock sensor and cam sensor wires since the cam sensor is in the front cover instead of in the rear of the block and the knock sensors are on the side of the block instead of under the intake.
The good thing about the L33 is its light wieght though and is great for offroading if you do any these trucks are very front heavy and if you can drop 150#s(think thats the weight diff) off the front end it helps quite a bit. Now if you dont use your truck heavily offroad then go with the traditional 6L block.
I didn't realize that the LS2 bare block was priced that "low." I also found some info on SLP's 402 short blocks in low & high compression versions. I knew you could sleeve a 346 to 360, but had not idea on the 5.3L motor. I'm aware few years ago that you could get 383 (sleeve/stroke) without any difficulty from the 346 LS1.
So it appears it's probably better to get the bigger block and stroked. I'm not looking for astro power, but something that's smooth/tractable/reliable & cammed mildly... around 400+hp/tq at the crank at around 400 cubes, little bit of headwork around 10-10.5-1 CR. NOT wanting a 4x4 drag truck! Have had my fill of track cars over years and still have another little "toy."
If anybody else has ideas, chip in. Appreciate the input.

Wow nice head with no flow sheet must flow like shit. Thus far edelbrock has yet to impress me with their castings sorry not and edelbrock fan. The new DARTs have a lot more potential IMO. Good info on the LS2 block may use and LS2 block in the s-10 when I get around to playing with it.
