Forget those lifter tools though, unless you wanna buy mine that didn't work. And you better have some muscle for the crank bolt...May I recommend Jethro3?!?!!?!!!

The best front pulley puller I have found so far is for a Dodge and you can rent it at your local Autozone. Get a new water pump gaskets, front cover seal and gasket, and pulley bolt. I'd go one step further while you're that far down and drop the oil pan and swap out the oil pump. You can go with a ported LS6 pump or get the LH6 displacement on demand 5.3L engine high volume pump.
the hardest part really is the springs.. just takes awhile to get them off and new ones back on
other than that it really doesnt take much more than 3-5hours depending on how good with tools you are. Its nice to have 2 people also.. one can get the plugs on one side while the other does the other side. Rockers and etc also go much faster with 2 people
