I recently have been buyin' stuff that i would not normally buy for the truck. And one thing that has cross through the ole noggin are those controversial (problaby didn't spell that right) ASP underdrive pulleys, i have noticed not many guys here have them and there has to be a reason behind that. I don't mind the $200 if it is a good product. If it only is 5-10hp who cares it is 5-10 hp that i didn't have before. I know money can be spent wisely somewhere else, but I am already in the process of the whole cam, stall, rods, springs, retainers, shifkit thing. And i wouldn't mind a little horsepower now.
How do you guys feel about this product?

Its your money, buy whatever you like. :thumb:
Most people don't buy them due to false knock often associated with an aftermarket pullies or dampners. Underdrive pullies alone will cause your alternator to turn a lot slower and kills the efficiency of your alternator output and water flow rate. I guess if you're running a higher gear ratio in the rear end you're going to be turning enough RPM to offset the smaller pullies. :duh:
Honestly, the thought to add them has crossed my mind numerous times lately. Then again, I have been in the "throwing money down a hole" mode for a while now.

Good point, but you can get a smaller alternator pulley to offset the slowing efficiency rates.
And Also Just purchased 145A alternator today.

I say go for it but do a before and after time trial to see what you gain.

Before and After would be a great Idea.
I want to hear from someone who has these pulleys and see if they like em' before i buy them. You know what I mean?

i have one on my truck its alright i picked up 7hp and 10tq i can feel alittle difference and it revs alittle faster and u lose a little weight my stock one was 12 lbs and the asp is 9 but it does slow down the water pump and fan and if i dont watch it it will get hot if i am just sitting there in 110 dregree heat now that its cooled down out i dont have a problem. i need electric fans

I gained the same as bigpat502, 7 RWHP AND 10 RWTQ, Allen did a before and after dyno, when we put mine on. I think that they are worth it in my opinion. :thumb:

should you go under or over drive alt pulley with the underdrive crank which is better

you wont need the oversized alt. pulley it will just make it harder to keep the amps up, if anything you want a smaller pulley for the alt.
