Which company has the best prices for 60E parts? I am trying to put together a list of parts to build this one up. I haven't torn into it yet but am trying to put together a list of things to upgrade and handle about 600 hp. I figure a full set of Red Alto clutches and Kolene steels, Transgo 4L60E-HD2 shift kit, Beast shell, and all the previous parts we typically use to upgrade from previous posts.

I called transmissioncenter.net earlier today and they want me to buy about $700 worth of parts and pieces to build this one up.

I spent nearly 1000 on parts when I had mine done. I would think $700 is a pretty good deal.

Yeah, that $700 is just parts and no convertor. I am not sure it even comes with a transgo kit. I'll have to check again. They about had a cow when I told them I have a 3600 stall to go with it. Dude thought it was way big. I see guys on LS1Tech running 4000 and 4400 in daily drivers all the time. It will be interesting to see how this one runs. It ought to keep up on the sweet side of the power band.

remember when bino locked up his reareand at the first of season...well it took out the tranny also...he put in a strange 12 bolt.had a guy rebuild his tranny with all the hard parts for 1100.then sent in his yank 3600 and had it restalled to a 4500.....it's all staying together so far...he just has a severe traction problem and cant even hit the no2...

You have to remember that most of these guys running 4000+ stalls have a lot lighter cars than our trucks.
It takes a lot more rpms to start moving the truck with a bigger stall and that creates a lot of heat.
Hell with just my TB stall that is stalling around 2800, my rpms have jumped up more just to get moving. Granted its fun as hell when I punch it though. :burnout:

What size cam are you going to use with it?

Its a COMP cam and the specs are 232/228 610/595 113. Great big gulp of air! I have manley dual springs with titanium retainer installed on the refreshed heads. The springs/retainers are good to .650 per Scoggins/Dickey.

I had a SS3800 that I ran a 13.4 with pleanty of traction problems on slicks. Most say 4000 stall is the best. With the big stalls you can cruise along at 40-50MPH and spin the tires at will. The bigest problem (beside traction) I had was the lockup slipped a bunch and the tranny ran 200+ degrees on the highway.

What do you guys think about the billet 1-2 and OD servos? I have the vette servo and want to know what the advantages would be of upgrading to the billet 1-2 and then add the Od servo. What about the longer pin to go with it?

Started the tear-down on the trans last night. The fluid smelled like someone pissed in it. It had some serious issues. The fluid pan had dimples in both ends of the valve body like someone forgot to put the electronic modules on the ends of the body and then blew the valves out after the engine started and fluid pressure built up. I didn't get much further than that. Tonight I will tear it the rest of the way down.
