Wiring harness choices: emissions yes or no for Texas?

I'm gathering all the info and parts for my 1995 Cheyenne to swap my 4.3 v6 to either 5.3 or 6.0. There are many choices for wiring harnesses and because all represent a fairly sizable investment, I need advice. I live in Texas. Some companies offer to make wiring harnesses with or without emissions. I'm not sure which components are deleted. Which really matter? I think I mainly need the tailpipe analyzer to be clean. Has anyone else traveled this ground? Thanks in advance.

I used a psi harness without rear O2 wiring. I just turned off the rear O2 with HP Tuners, so it won't throw an engine light. They inspect it just like with the v6 in place by using the pipe sniffer. The 5.3 runs way cleaner than the 4.3 ever did. It will easily pass.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know. Your truck is the same color as mine. Any specific pearls of wisdom you might have for me on your conversion? Did you use the truck intake for use the car intake? Did you use an in-tank high pressure fuel pump or an external inline style? Thanks

My truck was white with the typical flaking paint. It is now actually painted with hot rod flats tropical turquoise. It does look a bit like the Chevy blue on yours in the profile pic, but not so much in person.

I just used an in tank pump for a 1998. It dropped right in. I used all truck stuff. My 5.3 is from a 2002 with drive by cable. I used a hummer h2 cold air kit so I could leave my battery where it was. I used a dirty dingo truck ac bracket and just bent the original ac lines. It all works fine. Get your oil pressure from near the filter using a cheap adapted plate and your old sender. I used a Camaro three wire temp sender, but the guage reads a bit low. You can put your original temp sender in at the head near the firewall on the passenger side with an adapter. I kept my nv3500 5 speed. It is plenty strong for regular use.

If you already own HP tuners and know how to use it, that makes it all much easier as you can get your tach, speedo, etc working right. And of course it allows you to disable error codes that will keep you from passing tx inspection.

Just finishing my swap in my 95 with nv3500 to. Did you use the stock throwout bearing? It seems to me that it should work fine. my engine is a 5.3 aluminum block, nfw1050 flywheel, stock clutch
