i just got a 02' silverado 5.3 2wd and was thinking of doing an eagle 383 stroker kit on it and was wondering if anyone has done it or has heard anything about it. and can you fit a FAST LSX intake on a 5.3 block.
plan to get LS6 heads milled down to 72CC, 1.8 roller rockers (dont know if i will have to fly cut the pistons or not), LS1 hotcam, and a new intake(fast lsx 78mm if it is even possible to fit on the block) and throllte body. 2800 stall conv, nelson tune, and 3.73 gears and maybe an sts turbo down the line.
i have to keep this engine california smog legal and everyone knows how strict they are. so i cant do an engine swap.

I know you can bore a 5.3 block out to a 5.7 and stroke it out to 4.0" and you get a 382 ci. The LSX manifold will bolt up, but you have to run efans because the LS1 style intake sits lower and the fan will hit the air cold air tubing. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Thats the same kit I would like to put in my truck after it goes bang again..... I believe it would be cheaper than going the 6.0L route and would still make great numbers and be reliable if done right. I'm also interested in this post as well....

You actually think the Smog police will know the difference between a 6.0 and a 5.3 or even a 408?
