4.8 to 6.0 swap ?'s
06 rcsb with a 4.8, nothing fancy cai, flow 10series, rims and tires. Anyhow I'm lookin at dropping in a 6.0(w/ a cam and headers) and sticking with the 4l60e. My question is with the 4.8>6.0 do I need another harness and pcm or could I keep the existing harness and flash the pcm? Since the 4.8,5.3, and 6.0 very similar thanks

Hi and welcome to the site. You may want to stick to an engine of a similar year. Not sure of what year, but they changed reluctor ring teeth and that means you need the proper PCM to run the engine or get an adapter from Lingenfelter.
I would have to think the harness is the same as long as you stay close to your year of truck.

anyone happen to know what year engine is gonna be a plug and play? I was under the impression 03-06/7 but I don't know when they changed the trigger wheels, and again do I have to get a flash or would it really be plug and play?

If you have the knock sensor on the side of the block, then it's a gen IV engine and you need to swap to another gen IV 6.0 because the pcm, harness, and tune is completely different. Another way to tell if you have the gen IV engine (as opposed to gen III) is if you have the DOD type you'll notice the lifter valley cover has lots of grooves on top that are passage ways for oil to flow. I'm pretty sure they changed to the gen IV engines in 2006.

So 06-12 would be a drop and drive? Other than a flash

Pretty much, and you'd want to do the flash anyways because a good tuner will find any extra power hidden in your ECM.
