2006 silverado

i just bought a 2006 silverado 4.8L 5-speed. i have a few questions hopefully someone will have an anwer for. i plan to put an LQ9 6.0L in it. the transmission and most accessories should line up right? (water pump, p/s pump, alternator, fly wheel??? and transmission) secondly, i want to install a cool air intake, throttle body spacer and mass air flow sensor in it. what do i need to do to upgrade the fuel so it dont run lean? i dont imagine i'll need bigger injectors or fuel pump with fairly minor up grades like that. after that is all said and done, im goin to lower it and put 20" wheels/tires on it. these trucks have those tire pressure monitors on it, is there a way to bipass that or have the monitors work on the new wheels? any helpful imformation would be appreciated.

Congragulation! That is going to be really sweet with an LQ9. I don't know anything about bolting the LQ9 to the 5 speed, but I can tell you not to waste your $$ on that MAF and Throttle Body Spacer. You $$ will be much better spent with a tune. Not to mention that the tune will grow with you. As you make more and more changes the tune can be upgraded. :twocents:

another alternative i was thinkin about was super charging it. is the LQ9's compresstion too high? should i go w/ the LQ4? and what do you mean by getting a tune? im new to the performance group, i havent heard that option yet. maybe i hav ejust with using a different word.

When you swap the motor all your fuel and timing maps will need to be changed. You will need to find someone who can crack into the ECM and re-calibrate all that stuff. I used Nelson Performance and have been extremely happy with the results.

What I would do is a LQ4 9 to 1 comp with a hop up turbo cam and a livernois turbo kit with a 67mm, the thing would be stupid fast!!!!!!!!!

im still in question about the tire pressure monitor for this vehicle. anyone have any advice at all?

The tire pressure monitor should not hinder you any. I thought that the gov't required all new car have them by 2008 for safety. It's not supposed to kill performance or anything.

i know its not goin to have an effect on performance. the question im askin is how will i get it programmed to the new wheels? w/ aftermarket wheels, wont that light always be on?

Install the sensors on the new wheels. If they are similar to the corvette ones they simply unbolt at the valve stem hole. Transfer them to the new wheels and keep going.
