Im gathering parts for dod delete on my lc9 5.3, I was gonna order a new ls1 oil pump since it wouldnt need the high volume any more, but I was reading over on ls1tech that I can just change out the spring on my high volume pump. Any body know anything about this?
if i could do it again id for sure change the LC9 pump out. my oil pressure is lower then non DOD motors run at
for that amount of money its worth the piece of mind to change it out IMHO

That's odd. When we swap out the dod stuff with non dod hardware oil pressure increases to around 40psi at idle; if I remember correctly.
Farmtruc, so you just leave the same oil pump on these dod engines? So far I have set of ls7 lifters, 206/212 gen 3 cam (free, couldnt pass it up) 4.8 ly2 valley cover, 3 bolt 4x cam sprocket, new crank pully bolt and 4 regular lifter trays. Am I missing anything?
Yes you can keep the stock oil pump and pressure will increase.
You can run stock pump but from my experience my oil pressure is lower then I'm used to...30psi when warm
