Ok I am working out details of making my new Z71 have more of a Muscle Truck feel. Its a reg cab short bed, the only worry is the Z71 flares. They are color matched so they dont stick out real bad, and I am worried to try and take em off due to the inevitable scuffing from the edge of them on the bed and fenders. Any pics of trucks with 20's etc. with the flares in place? Any advice, thanx.

Stillen did a lowered truck a while back and used the Z71 flares to give it a wider stance. Mabye you want to consider leaving them on. I'll try and find some photos of that truck.

Yea see if you can. Thanx. I do like the idea of keepin it wide track with the flares, I just need to make sure I can get my wheels and tires sized right. Probably alot less people fitting them with flares than without. Thanks again.

I have seen them with the flares as well and really like it. I was actually considering adding them myself for the same reason mentioned above.

I'm trying to put wheels on my z71 with flares.
18 or 20 x9.5 all the way around like my stepside but with the flares it looks like its going to be 4.5 backspace or 5 to sit the tire flush with the out side of the flares.
I threw my 18x9.5 with 6" B.S. from my stepside on my GMC and they looked stupid in so far from the flares.

I would want them about 1/2 an inch inside the flare. The only thing to worry about is the tires scrubbing the flare when the rear is loaded. If you are not lowered far, you probably don't have to worry about it.

Not lowered. Stock Z71, But I will pull the 2" lock out so its level. But I rarely tow or haul, so. Should be O.K. So I need to make sure I buy wheels with 5 or 4.5 BS? In like a 20x 9.5? I assume SS wheels would look like hell? Not enough BS? Any idea whats wheel comany's I should look into? Hard to find wheels with much less than 5.5 or 6 BS it seems.

American Racing or most wheels for lifted trucks are all 4.5"
