PCV Valve relocation lq4
Wanting to put my pcv valve in the center of the my valley cover. any reason this wont work?I just bought GMPP aluminum valve covers and they don't have holes for pcv valve. Iam running a proflow intake so clearance isn't a issue .I pulled the cover off and there is a dimple in the middle between the knock sencers should get less oil splatter there than in the valve cover,Any thoughts or comments?

Go for it. Some valley covers have a port like the passenger side cover right in the front of the valley cover.

Well I drilled the plate and installed it with a metal strap attached under the pcv valve acting as a make shift baffle(don't know it needed it but couldn't hurt) guess I will need to pull metered fresh air from in front of the throttle body after the MAF sensor to the valve cover. Do you think it needs a baffle Allen?

check this valley cover out, has a port.

If that's gonna be the only vent, i would consider a tiny non filter on top of can, catch can.
so it'll catch any residue going thru the hose.
something like those little water separators for a compressor.
i would install a baffler or mesh screen unless you have issues. a fresh engine shouldn't be pushing oil.
vent to the intake tube is good, it'll suck it out, and you won't smell gas fumes in the cab.
hope this helps.

Kinda lost me there Allen LOL I drilled the valley cover right in the center between the knock sencers put the pcv valve there and will put the hose to a vacuum port on the intake .as far as the fresh air planning on drilling the right valve cover for a hose barb and hose it to the air intake pipe in front of the throttle body .are you saying I need a baffle there?

Sounds like that will work just fine.
Just know that some oil consumption does occur when the hose from the rocker covers to the intake pass oil.
In some cases.
So a tiny catch can is added; sometimes.
Go ahead and do what you're doing; i'm just getting a little ahead.
