Trans Dapt 4572 Question
I have a 1999 OBS Silverado 1500 which had a Vortec 5.7 and Im about 6.0 swap it and just about ready to drop in the new motor. Im using Trans Dapt 4572 adapter plates and I have heard of people having issues with the triangle shape hump on the back side of the clamshell mount hitting the adapter plate. Im at that point now as well and one washer between the two wasn't enough as seen below.

So I added 2 washers and it will bolt up completely. My question is will having 2 washers between the plate and clamshell give me problems when I go to bolt the motor up? I considered cutting a hole in the plates for clearance but wanted to see how you all used the Trans Dapt 4572 first. Here's how its sitting as of now. Thanks

Rather than cutting holes in the plates, you can heat the mounts to cherry red and beat the humps flat. That's what I did. I have also read that some removed the humps with a cutting torch or hole saw with no apparent ill effects on strength.

i wouldn't use the washers. i would de-hump the mounts. i used adapters that have a section cut out but i still had to grind down the humps on the mounts.

Don't use washer, cut the hump in the clamshell with torch or grinder.

Thanks for the help. I have access to a plasma so I'll go ahead and get rid of the humps.
