1" setback mounts needed....motor is 1" too far back!?

Hey guys this is my first post here but I am a forum shark amd have read up quite a bit. Truck is a 92 c1500 ext cab that originally had a 350/700r4. Dropping in a 99 5.3/4l60e. From everywhere I have researched I seen that we need the 1" setback mounts to keep the motor in the correct position but whaddya know, its too far back by an inch! Wtf? Is there something im missing here? I guess i could move the crossmember back an inch to match, but will the driveshaft accept that big of a length difference? Any help appreciated

Dirty dingo motor mounts are adjustable and should work for you.

Actually i just had a little brainstorm and I think I figured it out. I got ebay adapter brackets and they came with no instructions. I researched which way is forward and I got that right for sure. The brackets were advertised as 1" setback but they had an extra pair holes. I put it in the bolt holes that didnt interfere with the recessed bolts which were the ones farther forward. However, these brackets must have the option for 2" setback and thats what i used. Thats what i'm hoping at least. Even though they werent advertised for that. The bottom hole where the recessed bolt would be will now be used up by the bottom bolt of the oem engine mount cup. A different bolt will be used for the bottom hole now as well. Makes sense. Guess thats what I get for ebay crap :/ Then again, maybe the position i'm using on the adapter bracket IS 1" set back and for whatever reason I need the stock position. Either way I think that these will still work. I'll check it out tmrw morning and post up how its going. So frustrating :/

Actually, the latter makes more sense. The brackets mentioned in the description that stock location is also an included option with the mounts. So the set of holes I didn't use IS stock location. It's weird that my truck needs the stock location even though everyone says otherwise.

i bought a set of multi hole adapters, 1" forward, stock, & 1" back & i had to use the stock (center) holes on my swap also.

Kind of odd. I thought all the OBS trucks required the 1" setback plates. Apparently, I was mistaken. My '93 requires them, at least as far as I know. My adapter plates were supposed to put the engine in the "standard or stock postition", whatever that means. I interpreted it as it would place the engine right where it was supposed to be to make the driveshafts/crossmember work just like they always did. Come to find out I order the standard plates and my engine/trans ended up being 1" too far forward. Go figure.

I have Trans-dapt 1" setback TRD-4575 and my engine is still a bit forward (1/2) but driveshafts fit well K1500 1994 with 2005 5.3(L33),4l65e and my old T-case NP241
