I just got a 4l80e today the yellow tag says it was made in 98. the guy i got it from said it was in a square body 2000 chevy 3/4ton. My question is, is this swap the same as the Ls style 4l80. i know i need the 6.0 flex plate, spacer, longer bolts and the conversion adapter, but is the $150 speartech adpater the same for this trans. any help greatly appreciated.
As far as I know, that should work with the LS's PCM. Anything later than '96 should have the proper wiring hookup. It would help if we knew what engine you are running and what year. You may have to flash the PCM in order to run the trans if your engine was not originally backed by the 80E.
My bad it was late, its a 5.3 its either an 01-02 out of a Tahoe.
