6.2 in my truck..down on power?

I just had my 4.3 swapped for a 07 6.2 engine...My truck is a 2000 swb 1500...
The engine has a comp cam 224/228 112.0 581/588, and headers. Stock 4l60 and stock converter and 342 gear in the rearend...Going to have some more tuning done for sure..
The truck just seems gutless and maybe once it gets to around 4500rpm it sounds good and feels like it starts moving...But down low it has nothing..Pretty sure my V6 would have stayed close in 1st and 2nd LOL....I noticed when he was tuning it that it appeared to have 16 degrees of timing accross the board..Is that enough timing or are there other variables that play a roll in that?
Going to order 390-410 gears, and 3,000 stall converter...
Is it the cam that has just killed the bottom end power or?

That cam will need a stall to work properly. 16 degrees is very conservative for an NA setup.

Is 3000 stall enough?..How much timing is anyone else running?

3000stall is plenty although 34-3600 is a ton of fun. I think the 60e will crap out pretty quick unless its built. I would suggest a 80e.

Low 20s for timing isn't outside the norm.

Timing will depend on fuel octane and quality. 16deg is on the low side, but if the tuner is detecting and hearing detonation, nothing he can do; could be carbon build up, fuel, just one of those OS'.
6.2's like the high side of the rpm band, add a cam and it extends even further.
Truck shouldn't be gutless tho.

With it being 16, something may be wrong. These engines normally like to run mid to upper 20's some around 30ish. There are several threads on timing over on ls1tech.
Do you trust the person that did the tuning?
