We use DEI products, make sure who ever puts it in solders the wires n not use t taps
Be very careful installing aftermarket remote starts. They are notorious for causing issues. I would recommend a Clifford alarm/remote start.
The issues are from the installer lol, a good certified installer and you shouldn't have an issue, we do 2 or 3 a month on all kinds of diff vehicals and never have any come back because of issues. But that said a good product makes a huge difference to.
Certifications mean very little to me these days however unless you do it yourself or can verify install it is a gamble to know for sure if a good installer didn't decide to take a shortcut just this once. Seen too many jobs that were possibly rushed or something.Quote:

Remote starts are cheap, you pay for the labor, we have a program that we pay for yearly so we know the wireing in every vehical. We have to warranty all our installs so its done right the first time. If a customer brings there own and it's not a brand we use we norm turn down the job. All I can say is do your research and make sure who installs it knows what there doing. Depending on the vehical make sure they use the correct modules so it works with the cars factory stuff. Most cars now days use data. So short cuts won't work. It typically takes us about 3 to 5 hrs to do a remote start and when it's done you have a clean install and if some1 tried to steal the car it would be hard to find it. Just ask around and find a good shop that has a good reputation is all I say.
And in the audio biz certification is every thing if your paying some1 to mess with your wireing. Any shop can hire a kid off the street. If you are certified its something you have to keep up with and have a lot of experience. I'v done installs on Hondas all the way up to a rolls. Every vehical is diff. And getting harder to master every year. I can tell you hrs of stories of stuff I'v seen from ppl not knowing what there doing. Ill never let any1 touch my truck less I see a certification, don't mean you getting a good job, I agree, but at the same time I'm not going to pay the guy that cuts my grass to change my motor either
My viper works well, but it's built like shit as far as the fobs go, next time I will use a different unit.
