Ok, swapped in the 80 and with it still on jack stands I tried to start it with no avail. It will not crank at all and yes, I checked all fuses, swapped relays, bought a new NSS, did the park/neutral switch adjustment procedure, and made sure I didn't screw up the wires to trans or on the crank position sensor. I am officially lost... Anyone run into something like this on their swap?

Yes, it will show Park and Neutral, some of the other gears are off or will take awhile to show up though.
I know first hand it's the neutral safety stitch. I accidentally pulled one wire loose when I did the trans on my Tahoe. Check it, and really look at it good.
I took the whole thing apart, the only thing that is questionable is the ground wire on the larger connector. It looks a little smashed but nothing through the insulation.Quote:

I messed up one little pin inside. Didn't realize it till i pulled on the wires and it came out. I actually bypassed that switch to be sure through the fuse box and the truck started no problem, I can't remember exactly how, just remember i pulled a relay and jumped it.
If the wire looks smashed, It could be broken inside of the insulation. I had the oil pressure sensor ground seperate inside the insulation, I found it doing a continuity test on that wire.
It will not show Park now unless I turn off the key and turn it back on....all other gears show up perfectly.Quote:

repaired ground wire...the only one that looked a little questionable, replaced starter, replaced plugs on NSS, replaced NSS.....still no crank...
Anyone have any other ideas? Before I just say f&*k it and install a push button start...
I'm at a loss without being there. Have you bypassed the ignition switch through the fuse. box relay? All it takes is a little wire. I bypassed mine, worked and ran just fine. That's how i narrowed down the NSS on mine. Maybe we are going the wrong route and need to look elsewhere.
