Welcome to the site. Is the truck not your dd? Pics?
Chevy-Art, thanks for the welcome. The truck is not my daily driver. It is driven on weekends, or when the need arises for the use of the truck. With only 157,000 on the clock, a decently straight rust free body, and a lucky chance to score a '99 6.0 with the harness, ECM and a cooked trans thrown in for good measure, how could I go wrong with the swap?
Some more pics of the swap:

Welcome! Did you keep the iron heads on the 6.0?
Welcome!!!
Bangbangskeetskeet and Tech946, thanks for the welcome.
I ended up putting the engine in as-is. She ran too good to take apart for the installation of aluminum heads. Even at 140,000 on the engine, she runs quietly without any valve train noises. The occasional cold piston slap is evident but quickly disappears. No known oil consumption between changes. The only thing I did was replace the rear main seal for good measure.
I'm not looking for anything to take to the drag strip. Just some more power than the old, tired 350.
