Hey guys I have a 90 k1500 looking to drop in my LS1 out of my camaro and trying to decide weather to build up the 700r4 or swap in a 4l80e. Will any ls computer work with the LS1? The computer from my camaro if for a six speed so it will not be an issue with the 700r4 but I'm wondering if I go 4l80e if I could get a truck 6.0 computer to control everything? I have hptuners pro. Please help I hate to toss money away if it won't work.

You will need a PCM that is wired correctly for your ls1 drop out although you can convert most PCMs it is easiest to use the correct one for the motor and then you can change the trans programming to what ever trans you end up using.
Ok so even though the camaro was a six speed I can program it for the 4l80e? That's what I'm hoping for.
Yes I believe that shouldn't be a problem, but you will need to modify the harness.
+1 use wiring harness and computer thats in camaro and program it for whatever tranny you go with. Just like he said you will need to add wiring to your harness for 4L60E or 80E since yours was a six speed.
