Noticed a puddle under the truck today, followed the trail to the rear seal area. I haven't had any slipping or problems, just the leak. 4 wheel drive truck. There was fluid scatter around a bit, around the vent tube, drain plugs, and the seal. Any ideas or suggestions?
Replace seal, clean up the old dirt and oil and drive it.
I cleaned everything up, drove around, checked and nothing other than tiny bit from the vent tube. Checked fluids and seals and everything good so far. Thanks man
Do you mean where the driveshaft goes into the transfer case? If so make sure you clean any corrosion off the yoke before you put it into the new seal or the rust will tear the new seal.
Yeah that's what I was talking about. Im thinking the trans just got hotter than normal and spit some fluid through the vent tube. Got a cooler on order today. Nothing else is leaking though so its all good. Thanks!
