Obviously fully dropping the transmisson and removing it is one way to install a converter. In fact, actually getting the trans out seems to be the hardest part.
Is there some sort of trick way to do this w/o having to fully drop the trans? Would it not be good idea even if there is? Comments or web links to a procedure are welcome.
I've pulled a lot of trannies in my life, and a full drop is the only way I know of being able to get a torque converter out/in. But I am not a professional.
Yeah, my question is probably one of those "What was he thinking when he asked this?" deals. But sometime there's tricks that aren't so obvious. In this case i'm sure it's "Dude ya gotta drop the tranny" :smile:Quote:

There is a way to do it without pulling the transmission, pull the engine! :laugh:
