Ls1 cam lsa?
Alright, i recently installed a 2000 vette cam in my truck 198/207 500/500 15.5lsa, stock cam was on 114 lsa i believe, what i have noticed is that at around 3k rmps it pulls very hard, and at 4k it feels even harder... Problem is that its pulling the hardest from 4k to 5500 where it shifts with my stock tune, is this because of the higher lsa, and if so does anyone know where this cam would peak, want to get an idea of where to set my shift points/rev limiter.. when i get my tune.. so you guys know, i may be getting hp tuners, so i need an idea on where to set it..

generally speaking, everything the being the same except lsa's, lsa's thats are numerically higher have a much broader/smoother powerband and are not as peaky as lower numbered lsa's. so to answer your first question... yes and no the lsa is effecting the 'pull' however the added lift and duration is equally adding to the 'pull.' to your second question... the cam should fall off in a vette around 5900 rpm and in your truck probably 5700-5800ish with a stock intake.

Thanks for the info, im very pleased with the power from this cam, and i was worried that it would be a cam that liked to spin around 6500, once i get the money to spend im going to try and get hp tuners, if not ill just buy a tune.. I really like the 212,218 cam also if im not going fast enough after the tune thats the next one lol..

I'd set the shift points around 6200.

Using my old superchip for now until i can afford a tune, kinda worried about the line pressure settings, i have it set on 14% out of 20, and with the vette servo on the 1-2 shift its breaking tires loose pretty good, for some reason it does not seem to be like a bang shift, i guess im just worried about breaking anything, just wondering if you guys think it would be ok to use all the line pressure or if it may break the poor little 4l60e

Get a tune already, you keep doing more and more taking you further away from the factory gm tune. The tune will be a bigger gain than any 1 thing you have done yet. Nelsons tune is less than half the price of HP tuners and then you would have to learn what to do.

If it breaks tires loose turn the pressure down if you want tranny to live. If you wanna impress high school kids leave it.
