bud8fan, It's the same as swapping and LS1 into it. You'll need to make crossmember mods or move the A/C to the top. You'll need to change the harness and add the corvette fuel filter regulator. I'm sure we can find some previous posts with all the answers. PSWired and RedHeartBeat have made similar mods since their trucks are pre 96.
Oh ya, docgreen just made this swap also. Take a look at his web page the pics tell all. I think it's vortecsierra.com.
thats too much shit to do...what else are my options..im helping someone do this and all we want to do is get something back in the truck thats gonna get better mileage..he says that he get 9 to 10 right now and thats not gonna cut it anymore...
the other option would be to keep the same block and add the Vortec heads and cam out of a 96-98 and use the GMperformance parts intake for vortec heads with the 95 TBI.
BTW, You would gain a little more HP and gas by upgrading to a roller cam.
hell...i think even his overdrive is gone in it also...block has 300,000 miles and the 3rd tranny.
I have a complete vortec pullout with tranny from my truck. The tranny has 35,000 miles on it but the heads on the motor need to be rebuilt. Where are you located?
60 miles south of corpus christi tx.
I'm in Houston, how big of a hurry is he in to do something? I still need to finish getting the parts off that I need for my swap. I actually have 2 complete vortec motors. I have everything promised to a friend already but he hasn't made a move yet. I'll talk to him and see what he wants to do. If he doesn't want them, I'm sure we can work something out. I just installed a vortec motor in a 93 RCSWB and it runs great!
