Removing Evap
Ok, when I did my fuel system, details in my build thread, I removed all the evap stuf except the lines. I am having problems filling the tank, it takes about 1-2 gallons then I have to pump it extremely slow. I believe the reason for this is bc i crimped closed the two tubes on the hat that hook up to the evap system and thats not allowing it to breath correctly. Here is a picture of it.

Is this my problem? If so any ideas on a fix? Im thinking I can get a 1/4'' copper tube and drill a hole for it in the cylinder portion of the hat and solder it on then run some hose from the tube to a little breather filter and locate it close to the rear of the truck. What yall think? Thanks!

So nobody has removed their evap system

Stock tank or aftermarket? Stock filler tube?

i did away with evap yrs ago. when doing this you need to vent the tank. my tank has vents already on it that routed to the evap canister. I routed this together then installed a breather onto these up high near the filler neck...4 yrs later no issues

Yes the tank just needs to breathe, or it essentially will be trying to burp up through the filler neck. Which is what is causing the slow filling.

Ok thanks guys. I figured the two little vents on the tank would be enough but I guess not. I drilled a hole in the hat and soldered 1/4'' copper tubing into the hole then put a filter on it and it works just fine! Thanks again for the responses
