Hey! it's been along time since i've been here, so here i am and needing some advise with alot of stuff i want to do my 02 silverado with 5.3L ext cab, short bed.
Heres what i done so far: Volant air box with scoop, Hypertech programmer(waste of money i think) Granatelli mass airflow and corsa exh. Now, i have 1.8 crane cams rollerrockers for it, but i have talked to some people they said i need different valve retainers? is that true! and i want to supercharge it next year i need good advise on what supercharger to go with? i like the radix setup alot! and one more thing what about better ignition with these newer ls1 based trucks, anyone have Directhits!!! it looks promising but i want some insite about this product before buying!!!

I would change springs retainers and pushrods with the higher ratio rockers. I'm not sure but you're probably looking in the range of .030" lift with them. add that to your cam lift and you've raised it quite a bit. I just broke a valve spring in my previous engine from too much lift. I'd upgrade if I were you. JMHO

If you also plan to upgrade your cam, make sure the ramp rate is not to agressive for the 1.8 ratio rockers.
------
The Direct Hits ignition system basically integrates HDI into an existing HEI system, which is pretty interesting in itself. From the few reviews I've seen, it apparently does help a little w/ fuel economy and "throttle response". It may not fall in the "Tornado fuel saver" category, but I'm a little skeptical. At $250 for the kit, I can think of more effective ways to invest that money.
Another thing is these babies do is raise the plug height about 2 inches, which may cause fitment issues with long tube headers. Plus, in my case I'd be throwing away a perfectly good set of $75 Magenecor wires.
JMHO.

Good point! I knew there was something I was forgetting.
