i see that there are some site sponsors that do mail order tuning. i am interested in getting my 03 2500hd 6.0 tuned to squeeze a few more mpg's out of it. but this spring i plan to put a turbo on it and i know it will need retuned. ive heard that some tuners offer free retunes. what are my options and who do you guys tend to use?
That would put you into the highly modified class and I dunno if ppl offer free retunes on such major changes in mods... Something to ask the tuner to clear up...
Nelson performance is what most people here use. He sells turbo kits and has experience tuning turbo motors as well. I would go ahead and get a tune now, and then just have him retune for the turbo. He charges a more to tune highly modified vehicles (like one with a turbo) than a lightly modified or stock one, so you could just pay for a basic tune and then pay the difference once you get your turbo set up.
i just got an email this morning from erica at nelson performance stating they to not ship out their turbo kits anymore. in house only. got my eye on one of ricks kits, just waiting to pull the trigger...

they dont ship out turbo kits anymore. bummer cause i could have gotten everything i need in one place.
Depending on where you live you could always go and pick it up directly from the shop.
I have an '06 2500HD w/6.0.....interested also in a tune for perf. and MPG gain....just how much would I gain in the MPG dept. ??? Gets about 11.5 mpg now...Quote:
