Ok guys help me out i have just put an ls1 in a chevy c/k 1500 .I have a hot rod tune from nelson performance .I am trying to figure out how to achieve the most HP under 500 more $$$ should i do another cam, or intake, injectors,or just give me any ideas guys im sure u all know Thanks Timmy

What other mods do you have? You're off to a good start with your Nelson tune.
Juice might be easier, only because I'm not sure about availability of long tube headers for your 96', especially under $500. Some others may chime in on this.
PaceSetter makes a nice set of LTs for less than $500, but they're for 98' and newer, so possible fitment issues would need careful study.

I think a stall would be a good start.,won't make more HP but will make better use of what you have. But N2O would deffently make you truck jump!
That's a great point. Concentrating on the tranny will help get more of your current power to the pavement. If you can do the work yourself, $500 would go a long way.Quote:

As far as most HP I think I would be a cam. Now if you just want to drop off time then I would say a set of gears (If you can get them with a posi that would be the best), a stall converter or a set drag radials if you already have a posi. I got a stock LS1 in my 91 but I get no traction whatsoever, Im getting a posi with 4.10s the minute I get back to the US. That should drop at least half a second off the 1/4 mile.
