dash vin tag???
i had no idea where to post this. as alot of you know, the truck in my sig has caught fire and was almost a total loss. but its cool i got a new to me truck. so the question is about fixing the burned truck. my cousin is giving me a dash, and what ever other intrior parts i can use from his flpped crewcab. what do i do about getting a new vin tag replacing the one that melted in the fire? any help, tips, or leads as to what i can or need to do are very appreciated.

On america underground the other day they used the donor vehicles vin tag
-
i had thought about that but its for a 05 2500 gmc cc. mine is a 03 1500 rc

there is a guy who titles rebuilt 2500s as regular cabs id call and ask... Theyll tell you...

The vin tag is mounted to the cab, not the dash so it won't matter.
**wait, now that I read that again, you might be saying the tag is unreadable. Did you try to clean the soot off of it? they are pretty darn tough.

Duh LOL
Thanks, I was waiting for that.

Contact the tag office DMV they should be able to help you, chances are youll hafta to get a dealer or body shop involved, it takes a special license to get vins and the rivets that hold them in, otherwise you could steal a truck pop your vin plate on and its yours, youre gonna havta show proof of ownership and, prolly prove that the vin plate was actually destroyed, ive been thru this process had to have proof of bought parts and all that crap.

good to know its mounted to cab and not dash. oh and im a little past cleaning it lol

Ive seen a truck burned so bad the alluminum piece on the fire wall melted and the steering column had bent down like a torch was used, the vin plate was obviously non existent.

The wheels dont look bad really how are they in person?
You should change your sig, custom charboil'd paint!
