6.0 Picked up a random miss and oil leak

sooo tonight i had a issue with my truck....the lq9 swap went fine and the Nelson Tune went great, just finished breaking it in and doing the first oil change......well i finally got a chance to jump on it for a 123 gear shift on the highway tonight.......and the motor blew oil out from under neath the engine and was burning on the exhaust pipe......but then i had a terrible miss on cylinder 1-3, and a fouled plug on cylinder #3 but it was still firing and the injectors are new 42# Delphi units.......i dont think it blew a head gasket bc of no coolant loss or smell, just a lot of raw fuel, and the porcelain broke off the #3 plug inside the head ( the part that covers then firing element and electrode)........replaced both 1-3 plugs and wires......still have a miss, and i think i have a bad PCV selector valve from STS thats the only place that the oil is found on the top of the motor right near the valve and on it....and now where else.......but it is alllll over the bottom of the truck. and help would be great. Tomorrow i do a comp. test and a bore-scope down the holes.

Ouch, not good. Try venting the PCV to atmospher or to a catchcan and see if its pumping out a ton of crankcase pressure.

well when i check the oil on the dip stick i noticed a lot of crank case vapor coming out of the dipstick tube. :-( Not happy at all right now just installed new engine.

Was the tune for the turbo? I'm surprised to see an LQ9 with and STS turbo, the ones I've seen self destruct with that combination.

What do you mean by self destruct, and what combos were you talking about. Yes the tune was for the turbo and,the motor had less then 900-1000 miles on,it

Well it turns out that #3 cylinder lost all compression.....sooo motor's a big paper weight........until I decided to fix the turd

Wow that's some bad news man good luck maybe time to go 370 or even bigger :)

compression with FI. theres a few tricks to making it live... with that few of miles id never go wide open yet...much less boosting but each to his own

Every LQ9 with an STS setup behind it that I have seen grenaded the engine. If you didn't punch big holes in the side of the block you're doing good. You may be able to fix it with one new piston and rings. Don't keep driving it even it you think its important, you could ruin the block. You've undoubtedly broke piston ring lands or melted them down. I did similar damage to a nice high compression 408, now I'm running much more conservative compression thanks to some forged/dished pistons.

There are plenty of high compression LS motors using STS kits out there and don't grenade the engine.. GTO's, Fbodys, C5/C6s, etc....
