I have a high mileage 2000 Silverado 5.3 wanted to know if putting a ls6 cam would be a good idea? Like what power gains if any and what fuel mileage decrease. Also do i need to run a stall?

It would work fine. Fuel mileage probably around the same, power gains maybe notable on the Dyno, you don't have to run a stall. I think you will need the ls6 springs tho, someone correct me if I'm wrong
pro's:
cheap cheap cheap cam and ls6 valve springs can be had for around 200-250
fuel mileage is around the same (as scarybowtie stated)
more nut in the 3000+ rpm territory
no tuning needed to get the truck to run and drive
con's:
not the best cam to go with if you want to make power
kills low end power
All i have done now is hp tuner CAI and flowmaster with cat delete so any cam recommendation would be great. Keep in mind it is my daily driver
just cause its a DD doesnt mean you gotta get a small cam, just throwin that out there.
I drive mine 44 miles each way to work. 5 days a week. And I've got a 219/230 .604/.609 117+2lsa cam. Oh and I get 16mpg with a pretty bad exhaust leak that's making it run real rich.
dont you have like a million miles too.
He has like 230+k miles. The split is to cope with the boost and/or spray he plans to add at some point if I remember right.
