Does anyone know how much further the BIG serpentine area of the truck balancer is from the block as compared to the F-Body. I have read .400" and also .750"? I am trying to make something and will be trying an F-Body bracket on a truck setup and need to know how far out I will need to space the F-Body bracket.

which bracket are you trying to space? i run fbody accesories
im guessing hes trying to space out the alt and power steering bracket to work with the truck crank pulley and water pump?
First thing we need to know is which truck balancer are you running? What year engine? Did the engine it come off of have Displacement on Demand, Active fuel management, variable valve timing?
you might as well get an 08+ water pump and an fbody pulley if you want to run fbody accessories. i would check for alternator clears the power steering box first though.
Alright, I guess I will tell what I am building. I have an 02 5.3 mockup engine. I am reworking the Alternator area of the Alt/Pwr.Str pump bracket to mount a 96-99 Distributored Vortec A/C compressor where the 5.3 Alt should be. The Alt. will go on the passenger side next to the upper water neck. I have an F-Body Alt. relocation bracket I will be using as a template for mockup of a more correct Alt. bracket for the 96-99 trucks. This will allow the stock 96-99 A/C system to be used on an LS conversion. I am not a business---Just a guy messing around in the garage after work.
