i just installed the tune from nelson and i can feel the truck wanting to really take off now. problem is i just did an lsd and gear swap last week and only have 150 miles on that. what is the best way to get to the 500 mile break in without punching it? big spring under the accelerator or would a big sponge work just as good?
LOL 500 miles! I say go for it! The tune will still be learing for a couple hundred miles and will get better all the time! I know you were talking about the LSD and the gears but I'm sure that a couple of short bursts won't effect your break in! I think it is all about heat/time and your gears won't get that hot in the short amount of time it takes to hit 100, what like 14sec or so!
I figure this way, if your gears, engine tranny, etc.... are set up right, you shouldn't need a break in. The equipment I build is built in thousandths just like a motor and when I start them they go balls to the wall right off the bat and run anywhere from 300 to 12,000 RPM for years at a time. Yes, there is some equipment that needs to be broke in but not gears or an engine. When you build an engine at the track you don't break it in. JMHO
