New guy from Houston

I just found this site, and thought I would join up :smile: . I have a 2001 2500HD that is, let's just say, well used :burnout: . I picked it up about a month ago, and since it is an ex-oil field truck, I've had some issues with just about everything on it. a katskinz kit and a good apolsteror (sp?) could take care of that interrior

You got you a project there. It's definitely a good start. I hope they took better care of the drivetrain than they did the cosmetics.

So far, no. It's had a crap load of stuff repaired on it - over $8k on parts alone - but they still never took care of it. I've already replaced a bunch of stuff, the fuel seems to be the problem - one of many problems - that I'm dealing with now. The fuel pump was going out, thanks to a ton of dirt and crap in the tank, so I had to replace that. A torn fuel filler neck was the cause of that, and the guys just wrapped it with duct tape which didn't seal anything out or in. It made its way to the fuel rails (the fuel filter was never changed and it just blew out), and when I took off the fuel rails, it was half-way full of sand. So I've taken out the injectors and cleaned them, but I have a feeling new injectors are in order. But after that all I have to deal with is the brakes, the mirrors, the tail lights, the front differential, and maybe one of the front hubs (both of which have been replaced 4 times).

Welcome Squirrelmaster. Those rough necks were sure rough on that poor truck. I wouldn't even wish that on a Dodge... Well okay, maybe I would.

Anyhow, sounds like you know what your doing and got things under control.

Wow, now that’s a fixer upper. I know how work truck can get, no one person is really responsible for it so every one rags it and the only time it sees maintenance is when some thing breaks.

Yeah, that&#39;s the truth. This particular truck only had one driver, but he didn&#39;t care about it at all.

So far I don&#39;t know how much I&#39;ve got in the truck, but I have receipts for all the service work done on the truck after 40,000 miles (basically when the warranty expired and they started paying for all the stuff they broke :duh: ).

Thanks for the welcome :wave: . As far as the Dodges, this truck was actually replaced by one, so your wish has come true. The funny part is that the Dodge was all nice and neat when it was new, but now it looks almost as bad as this truck :laugh: .

I really was hoping I wouldn&#39;t have to put too much money into this truck for repairs, but it&#39;s past that point now. Too bad too, since I was going to put some of that money towards a lift and tires :cry: . Now it looks like that won&#39;t be happening for a while :tantrum: .
